Anthrax

I haven't heard of them being sent anywhere else.

And I've read reports on the type as coming from Iowa, or Texas, and so forth. Then the reports are denied. The last one I saw was that more sophisticated analysis was promising, haven't seen the results of that.

I've seen it said on these boards that Iraq has weaponized anthrax, and that's an excuse to do them it.

I haven't seen anyone claim these came from the Iraqis.

I am sure that anyone wanting to damage would have sent 1000 letters on the same day from any number of post offices. Would have really, really done damage. And it's easy to see how badly that would have affected the country. Shut down the entire postal system, closed many, many buildings, killed people. And be very difficult to trace the source.

What does it say about the Iraqis and their intentions that they haven't done that?

They could. It's easy to get the powder into the US, it's easy to travel to different mailboxes, it's easy to mail things.

I wonder if they have "stealth" letters sitting in embassies and consulates just waiting to mail in case they are attacked?

Dunno. Do know that if they wanted to, they could do a lot of damage rapidly, and there doesn't seem to be much the US could do to stop it. Or prove it.

And somehow attacking them on suspicion wouldn't undo the damage here. I'd rather leave them alone and have them leave us alone. And I'm aware that they could have done a lot already.
