Re: Ain't no way.

<And what keeps 'em backward is the kleptocracies and the western governments and companies which feed 'em.

Sounds suspiciously like you're "blaming America," here, but I'm sure I'm just reading it wrong. ;)

I will agree that many corporations are less than fussy about who they do business with. A good point to bring up at stockholders' meetings. On the other hand, sometimes foreign investment is the only path some nations have to get out of the rut they're in. It's not uncommon for foreign factories to offer the best working conditions and benefits in the whole nation. Which given the state of that nation often isn't saying a whole lot.

Capitalism isn't going to do it at first. You have capitalism now, with the political leaders owning everything, and exercising an economic tyranny which has purchased the political tyranny. The armies are owned, in effect.

You can think up another name for it if you want, but it isn't "capitalism" if the Fearless Leader and his relatives own everything and any potential competitors get jailed or shot by the government. Whenever a gun gets brought into the picture (other than for self-defense), it isn't true capitalism. At least in our less-than-true-capitalist nation, competitors to large corporations that are well-connected to the government don't get shot, they just get worn down to nothing by punitive regulations.

"4% of all liberals"

4 percent of all liberals what? I don't know what statistic you're referring to. You may be talking about the one that says only 4 percent of media people are Republican (6 percent are conservative). And I didn't make that one up.
