I try to follow down all links that I get from Worldnet Daily, Newsmax, or other obviously biased sources (even biased in my favor) to get at the original material (Worldnet Daily in particular tends to have a high goofball quotient). I prefer to link to original stuff whenever I can. I will grant you that when the original is in Arabic, we tend to hit a dead end. I did fish around at random to try and find the photodocuments they mentioned, but had no luck. Odds are they would be in Arabic too, so probably not much point.
However, since any number of people know Arabic, including many people who favor Arafat, it seems to me that if someone wrote up a bogus translation, the farce would be immediately exposed. So until further notice, I see no reason to doubt that the Arabic newspaper actually wrote this stuff as translated.
And I agree, I have no information on whether the Arabic newspaper may also be a biased source, although opposition newpapers in Arabic countries tend to be few and far between.
But face it, you know that the Palestinian leadership has been making off with a lot of this funding. Do you really put any of this past Arafat?
