It's bad here in Colorado Springs, too
This morning, the visibility was down to just a few miles (compared to 50+ miles on a normal day) and the air smelled very stongly of wood smoke. People with respiratory problems have been told to stay indoors. This fire has burned over 160 square miles and shows no sign of slowing down. By way of comparison, all of Washington DC fits on 69 square miles. This is a big fire, folks.
The town of Woodland Park is on alert to possibly evacuate. That may not be necessary if the winds shift back to the North like predicted. Of course, that will make things worse in Denver.
