Seen this syndrome before. I don't know how useful the new info actually is. With very little trouble, one could convince a kid that they had seen a perpetrator with pointed ears and feelers coming out of his head.
Also not sure how he could be a "trusted person" in the community, without the sister being able to actually point him out, or say, "oh, yeah. It was Mister Jones."
