<He said the girl's account changed as investigators with special skill at interviewing child witnesses helped jog her memory.
As a child’s memory is “jogged”, “accounts change”:
Contradicting previous statements, Capt. Atkinson said Elizabeth's 9-year-old sister Mary Catherine, who was asleep next to the victim, "feigned sleep" and had no conversation with nor was threatened by the abductor.
Although police reported previously that the suspect had warned Mary Catherine -- who shared a bedroom with Elizabeth -- not to report the incident to her parents, causing her to wait about two hours to report her sister missing, Atkinson said Tuesday that was not the case.

Atkinson said that the suspect did not know that he was observed by a child who he thought was asleep and that Mary Catherine had seen the abductor twice.
The latest information he said came as a result of three interviews with the 9-year-old, conducted by child-interviewing specialists.

Just a scared kid in a frightening situation.
"Atkinson added that the suspect was witnessed two different times at two different places in the house. He refused to elaborate."
Two different dates? Seen by two different people? By one person at two different places?
Dunno exactly how “two different times” = “two different dates” -- or from where you arrived at that quote -- but there reportedly were two sightings, both apparently that same morning by the younger sister (from the above text in heavy brown) -- and it stands to reason, as this is the only known eye-witness to the account who could claim that both sightings were of the abductor.
Deductive reasoning -- and additional sources,
