Pledge of Allegiance

I've got no beef with the ban on prayer in the public schools. My pastor
has pointed out that schools are a place of learning worldly skills,
those required to deal with the demands of life, and schools are rightly
protected from any and all political, religious, or philisophical issues.

Ofcourse, the schools still teach the evolutionist theory and the worst
of all propagandist material, environmentalism, however, in the same
context of "two wrongs don't make a right", adding prayer to the list
of misadventures, even though it is something I believe in, isn't a
justifiable policy.

Then we come to the 9th CCA finding that "under God" in our Pledge of
Allegiance is unconstitutional....

Is it really a violation of the separation of church and state? Or an
attack on the freedoms of any citizen who doesn't believe in God?

I say BULLSHIT! That's right, bull fecies!

On the separation issue; We are a nation of laws, which are the official
decrees of government that (allegedly) establish a norm, an acceptable
SOP for all citizens which guarantees that each of our liberties are
exercised in a manner which does not infringe upon the liberties of
another.

There is a marked distinction between those mandates that we are given in
the law, and personal opinion, even when the personal opinion is a high
profile custom that offends some citizens.

So long as the offending custom is not enacted as law, then the principle
of separation is not vilolated. With this thought clearly in mind, it
is passing a law to forbid our honoring God that is a violation of
separation!

On the matter of violating the freedoms of athiests, hindus, etc.; We are
predominantly a nation of Christians. From the date of our formation as a
nation we have declared the faith that a majority of our people share. This
is not an assault on anyone's freedom not to believe in Jesus Christ, nor
an act of coersion to force other faiths to change their beliefs.

It is right and proper to acknowledge the spiritual ethic which the majority
of us live by, and if that offends anyone, that's tough! It so happens that
the environment of freesom that these dissenters enjoy was, and is, an
adjunct of our faith. Belief in God is the very soul of this nation's love
for freedom, and millions of our sons have gone to their graves with the
name of Christ on their lips.

In other words, if you remove the impetus of America's spiritual convictions,
you remove the sustaining power which perpetuates our freedom. Saying the
Pledge of Allegiance is not a law either. It is a personal choice. If anyone
in a classroom, or an audience, does not believe in God they have the right to
skip the "under God" or remain silent through the entire Pledge. The fact that
nobody will persecute them for what they believe is the rule of conduct that
is the issue! And their insistence that we are forced to accept their atheism
against our will is tyrany, pure and simple.

The crux of this issue is the law. Mentioning God in a public place, or in a
ceremony, or any other context, is no violation of anyone's freedom! Beating
down their door and arresting them, or even singling them out as pariahs,
calling them foul names, whatever....that is a violation of their freedoms.

As for other faiths, the same applies. Most of these muslims and other faiths
are johnny-come-latelies, and if the faith of the majority of our people offends
them, then get the hell out! If the nations of India, Africa, Turkey, or
wherever they came from is so great, what are they doing here?

We don't question their reasons, nor interfere with their worship, and the reason
we don't is because the One we believe in demands that we give all the freedom
to worship who they will. It isn't an idea that we hatched, but straight from
the pages of the Bible. You can't say the same for islam! Allah doesn't like
the freedom of worship.

It behooves all people who live and prosper here to recognize that the teachings
of the God we honor is the basis for the freedoms they enjoy. If they wish to
continue enjoying those liberties they ought to keep their mouths shut and leave
us Christians alone.
