While we're at it...

we can change the words to the Declaration of Independence to take out things that might make some people uncomfortable, like "the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them" and "that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights" and "appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions".

We could continue by rewriting our history so that the Pilgrims and Puratins were simply looking for new farmland. We could sanitize all of history so that no one is ever offended. More likely, we'd just continue the trend where history is barely taught at all. God forbid (sorry) that anyone should ever be offended by anything.

Personally, I'm an agnostic. I don't go through life expecting everyone to walk on eggshells when it comes to discussing religion in my presence. Some people are quick to demand that no one dare offense them but they don't care how many people they themselves offend in the process.
