Sounds like David Neiwert’s problem, not George Bush’. And Neiwert should get out more and see just what kammicks are saying about the condition the nation is in and how we got here. Also, nowhere in this:
“You know, when I was running for president, in Chicago, somebody said, would you ever have deficit spending? I said, only if we were at war, or only if we had a recession, or only if we had a national emergency. Never did I dream we’d get the trifecta.”
...do I find direct mention of the 3,000+ lives lost at the WTC. It dances around this by referring to a national emergency, which we are still in, btw.
“Bush never told any audience, or any reporter, in Chicago that he could foresee three conditions under which deficit spending might be necessary.”
This never matters to the joke:
“A man with a duck on his head walks into a bar...”
Prove it.
Besides, the joke clearly states “somebody said”. This could be anyone, from a committee paper shuffler, to the Mayor of Chicago. Did Neiwert personally question everybody who was in Chicago at the time? Doubtful.
The piece is really nothing more than a pointless rant,
