No, just sleazy.

I'm not saying the Democrats are evil, I'm saying that they're lying.

The stock market was way, way up, and now it's way, way down.

The market flipped over in March of 2000. I was there. The NASDAQ lost half its value during the Clinton administration, in my opinion and the opinion of many others, partly due to the attacks on Microsoft. The dot.com balloon bursting and the 9-11 attacks did the rest, which had nothing to do with any administration's fiscal policies.

We were spending more on terrorism, the next administration cut the budget, and we were attacked.

Huh?? Clinton was increasing spending on terrorism? Must have missed that, kind of like Clinton missed busting bin Laden.

We had a 10 point Bill of Rights, now we have nine. (And Ashcroft says don't you dare run gun purchase record checks on suspected terrorists.)

Still waiting for the massive takeover of the Galaxy by Darth Ashcroft, Dark Lord of the Right. Not holding my breath.

We will not call American citizens "enemy combatants", now we will.

If they take up arms against American soldiers or citizens on behalf of a foreign power, damn straight.

If there was no tax cut, then let's repeal it.

Most of the tax cuts haven't been enacted yet, but I damn well want to keep mine. You are more than welcome to send more of your money to Washington if you want. I don't see Democrats in Washington lining up to repeal the cuts either. It's more effective politically just to bitch about them.

Might I recommend that all liberals march on Washington, call your Democratic Senators and Congressmen, and convince the Democrats to immediately pass a legislative repeal of the tax cuts? Oh, please?

Were you better off two years ago, or now?

Actually, I'm about the same, except I'm self-employed instead of an employee. My 401K is a bit smaller, but I don't think the DNC trying to deliberately cause economic problems to win an election is going to help that. Just wish I'd started investing in the 1980s (see below)

The Dow Jones average, showing not only the turnaround in 2000, but a pretty good look at the Big Picture, which is not as bad as all that.
