<At the end of the day, no one would argue that there are no crooks or scams among elected Democrats, but the truly big capers always seem to occur during Republican administrations.

Chicago, LA, New York City (despite having a couple Republican mayors, most of the city government is still Democrat), Louisanna under Edwards, Alabama under George Wallace and several others quickly come to mind. The development of Denver International Airport (DIA) took on a new meaning (Democrats In Action) with multibillion sweetheart deals to party insiders, massive overruns, and schedule delays. Clinton was so impressed that he selected Denver's mayor (Federico Pena) to be his Secretary of Transportation.

LBJ was a crook of the most vile order. He had commercial interests in several companies that "won" major construction contracts in Vietnam during the war. No wonder he kept that criminally incompetent SecDef McNamara in charge for so long - it wouldn't do to win the war and end the gravy train.
