Excuse me for being annoying but I have to disagree that Hitler's greatest blunder was declaring war against the US. I would rate it as his third or (possibly) fourth biggest blunder. I believe most historians agree that his biggest blunder was attacking the Soviet Union while Stalin was still honoring their peace treaty. Hitler's second biggest blunder from a tactical perspective was authorizing the Holocaust (he tied up significant military resources to kill off a large fraction of his own intelligency while fighting a total war, insane!). His blunders after that were less black-and-white. One could argue that he was mistaken to invade Poland. The invasion of Poland was what clearly invalidated Chamberland's appeasement policy leaving France and England with no option but to declare war. His declaration of war against America was required by his mutual defense treaty with Japan. That treaty with Japan had to be maintained since he was already at war with the Soviet Union. America's opposition to Hitler was a given once he invaded the Soviet Union.
