Supposing the Saudis knew about the terrorist plan - wouldn't they have flown home prior to 9-11 without attracting a spectacle?

The Saudi royal family living in the US (of thousands) requested permission to leave for immediate fears of their safety after it became known that most of the terrorists were Saudis.

Diplomats and foreign governments have special systems in place to allow exodus in such instances and this was one of those occasions. Naturally if American terrorists had blown up the Winter Palace and simultaneously attacked the Kremlin in Russia, many American diplomats in Russia may make a quick exodus with their families as well when tensions, threats and hatred are running at their highest.

Not all things are conspiracies, some are simply actions taken following a logical sequence of events.

The Saudi-Bush-Bin Laden conspiracy is a bit of far-left hokum. We have LONG standing financial interests in Saudi Arabia - heck the US set them on their path to prosperity in 1938 with ARAMCO!

The Saudis have always supported terrorism and Palestinians in an attempt to quell muslim outrage over their own very excessive materialistic lifestyle.

Bush's connection to the Saudis is very limited. Stock in firms doing business with Saudi Arabia (which is most of the Fortune 500!) and other links has been strewn into some vast conspiracy.

However, by this same faulty logic it is equally feasible that the left orchestrated the attacks with Bin Laden in an attempt to get Bush into an unwinnable military quagmire and domestic economic recession so as to oust him and sink his popularity come re-election time like his dad. I could point to prominent leftwing stockholders in companies doing business with the royal family to assert the "obvious links".

It's fun to believe in a Bush-Saudi-CIA drug supplying, money laundering, illuminati meeting world conspiracy though.
