<For this world to work, there cannot be a large disparity between rich and poor, between the haves and have-nots. Period. The Truman (Democratic) sponsored Marshall Plan is an example of enlightened self-interest trying to get more folks involved.
The world has always "worked" and throughout human history thre has always been a large disparity between the rich and the poor.
The conquerers and the conquered.
The intellectually accomplished and the illiterate masses content to procreate and consume perishables.
The push-pull of civilization has made growth possible. If everyone in the world were equal stagnation would result.
Eventually, the smarter folks would rebel against the equalization and would become leaders again. A counter position would emerge again and the followers would still always be following someone else.
The unimaginative masses would again become followers. The world would revert to an "unequal" status in short order.
No equal world exists. We all saw how equality works out...everyone is equal in misery, while the promoters of this equality live better than everyone else.
Your positions are classic marxist, your solution is to take from the rich and redistribute the wealth.
The distributors naturally take the kings portion for their hard work in looting others.
My gosh, after all of the time Tom has spent trying to educate you in the evils of marxism - it seems none of it has sunk in!
You need a tour of the countries who embraced marx and his "equal" philosophy. You could also do well to read Will and Ariel Durant's Lessons From History
People are NOT equal.
To force equality on people is to merge hot drinks with cold drinks. Soon you have a drink no one wants.
One look around one can tell one that equality is a fraud. No two things are equal except in mathematics.
An infinite universe demands and manifests in infinite diversity. This diversity will always put people on varying levels of development.
Forcing others to submit - which is always the marxist modus operandi - is not infinite and therefore not intelligent.
