I don't see it.

This is what I saw.

"The partisan gaps in knowledge are at least partly a consequence of demographic differences. On average, Republicans are older and more affluent than either Democrats or independents, and both of these are associated with knowledge about the parties’ positions and leaders."

It doesn't take a mental giant to figure that out. It can be predicted ahead of time by cultural and economic class distinctions.

What are you trying to tell me, Tom? That Republicans are naturally smarter than Democrats? Or that smarter people are more likely to become Republicans? What if we restricted our survey to the graduates of elite Eastern universities? (Except we rule out business majors up front because they are likely to be biased!)

Actually, I don't think these ponderous ideological issues have much to do with the way people vote.
I think Republicans get elected as frequently as they do because they have managed to convince enough dumb people that Democrats are commies that hate America and Jesus, and that they like to pay higher taxes, coddle criminals, and
get abortions, and they don't believe in family values or hard work. And you don't have to be a dumb Republican to think that way. Some of the smartest ones actually have convinced themselves of it.

Tom, there is no way you can prove (your politics) are right, and .NOT.(your politics) are wrong. Politics doesn't work that way. Nothing works that way.

Just let it go. Do you really think there is anything you can say that is going to suddenly change anyone elses mind, let alone mine? Do you really think I believe there's anything I could say that will change yours?

This is a rabbi and a priest arguing. Except the rabbi don't give a shit.

Capuchin monkey thinking about politics.
