Maybe the Koch brthers have a nice job reserved for Gov Snyder,
he sure as hell won't be elected Governor in Michigan again.
After running on a platform of "not interested in right to work legislation", and even soliciting and receiving endorsements from pro-union newspapers, he has done a last minute back-track and snuck through a right-to-work bill at the last minute, with no debate, no public review, and just before the legislature closes. Its a beautifully executed Putsch, I smell their gray eminences, the Koch gang, behind this.
Snyder's support for the bill represents a shift in views for the Republican governor in his first term. Since he took office in January, 2011, Snyder has maintained that a right-to-work bill is not part of his agenda, and if he signs the legislation today, as is expected, he will likely face a harsh political backlash.

This is classic case of interference of business in government. If the people don't know what's good for them, sometimes you have to help them along, whether they want to be helped or not. Now that business funding of right-wing candidates is assured and institutionalized, Democratic funding and support sources are being systematically dismantled.

Organized labor was furious.
GLORIA KEYES, UAW Member: You will have people that will be working right alongside of you that will not have to pay union dues, but you pay union dues, but will still be able to get all the benefits from being a union member.
GWEN IFILL: Democrats in the legislature complained that Republicans rammed through the bills with no hearings or public comments.
GRETCHEN WHITMER, D-Mich., state senator: This is a travesty. They're pushing this at the 11th hour because they know that the public doesn't want it.
And the public is in an uproar, the demonstrations are just getting started. Follow this story for yourself. This is not just an obscure political dust-up in a distant rust belt state. Regardless of how you may feel about right-to-work (personally, I favor RTW myself, unlike many liberals, I feel it tends to curb excess union power). But not this way, not like this; this a naked power grab, an end run around what the people want and what the governor promised, done in the middle of the night when nobody was watching.
They are doing this all over the country at the local and state level, because they can't pull it off at the national level. Redistricting, taking over school boards, gerrymandering, local voter suppression. Republicans can't win national elections, so they're burning down the Reichstags, one at a time.
