Would you do me a big favor, and direct me to one, single piece of objective evidence that indicates that Bill Clinton, Al Gore, or any of the other Democrats tirelessly touted as pinnacles of intellectual development are any smarter than anyone else, much less Republicans?
Other than constant repetition by the Left, do we have one single bit of objective evidence that Clinton or Al Gore is any smarter than, Bush for example? Or the guy who fills the vending machine at the 7-11?
"Gosh, he's so smart!" from an admiring reporter or cabinet member doesn't quite fill the bill.
I will grant that Clinton is a lot sneakier and can cover his ass much more rapidly than many Republicans, but I'm not sure that's a leadership qualification.
This entire "intelligence" thing has been horseshit from day one. Check out this article. Note the table:
Evidence for Bush's Intellect
Voter Interaction 7%
Public Record 6%
Recent Remarks 6%
Camp. Platform 12%
Tactics/Rhetoric 14%
Opponent Attack 9%
Friends' Remarks 2%
Past Personal Life 7%
Poll 1%
Other 5%
No Evidence 31%
Total 100%
Almost every single commentary on Bush's lack of intelligence is on the level of "I heard it somewhere," or "I think his conservative policies are dumb." Simply repeating something over and over again doesn't make it true, although it certainly makes for effective politics.
This kind of crap has pissed me off for years, beginning with Dan Quayle. It was especially irritating when Al Gore was raised up as some kind of intellectual giant. Good grief.
