"Americans of Muslim faith share the same grief that we all share at what happened to our country. In order for us to reject the evil done to America on Sept. 11, we must reject bigotry in all its forms."
WASHINGTON -- Reuters
President Bush on Tuesday pledged friendship with the world's Arabs and Muslims, as Iraq met growing speculation over a U.S. attack by urging Arabs to confront what it called American aggression.
"We treasure our friendship with Muslims and Arabs around the world," Bush said during a visit to the Afghan embassy in Washington, where he met Arab-American and Muslim leaders in what he described as a show of solidarity.
"We must remember that our enemy is a radical network of terrorists, not a religion; that governments which support them are enemies, not faithful Muslims who love their families," he said.
Speaking earlier, Iraqi Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan denounced what he said was aggression against Iraq and urged Arabs to fight back.
