Daniel Patrick really wanted to abolish the CIA? That would count - he was a Senator.
Regarding accountability. It was GWB's watch. He was President, Rumsfeld was Secretary of Defense, Mueller was Director of the FBI, Tenet was Director of the CIA. Rice was National Security Advisor.
They were responsible. And they all still have their jobs. Makes gov't civil service seem tame - those folks CAN be fired if they don't perform.
My experience with some of that is that the CO and Exec would have been gone, and forgotten if not buried. Fast. Real fast. Wouldn't have stopped to pick up their gear.
These people still cash their checks. Conservatives don't think THEIR people need to do their jobs, their manure doesn't have an odor. And people are dead because of it, but no matter. They are conservatives.
Mineta and Powell??? Transportation and State? And not Rice!!
See what I mean. What would Mueller, Tenet and Rice have to overlook to lose their jobs? The two WTC, no, three WTC buildings are gone, 3,100 civilians.
Most of us consider that a big enough failing. I've seen folks fired for worse, but they weren't conservatives in a Republican Administration.
Again, no one seems to expect them to do their jobs.
But they do teachers, bigawd. Now they should be accountable.
It's a screwy world. And Florida is perfecting ways to keep Democrats from voting, may spread that technology around the South.

Bottom line - they don't have to do their jobs.
