"Forgive them Father for they know not what they do."

I use this line when I read your posts all the time Bowser.

As for institutionalizing ignorance - that's been done since the end of time in Africa.

The region suffers from a shortage of intellectual capital, not food.

The African continent is immense. It could support the entire planet's present population if properly exploited and developed.

It is not however and the masses suffer under ignorant leadership in almost every nation on the continent.

Despots and tyrants find solace in backwards, starving peoples. It reduces their chances of becoming strong enough to depose them.

Legitimate governments are an exercise in interpretation. Mandela's government is no more legitimate than the former government and is ironically, equally based upon racial composition.

A Government's legitimacy can be determined by how well off their citizens are. It is for this reason that the US government is one of the most legitimate governments on earth.

Human development and society places the highest values on freedom and simultaneously upon human well being.

By this rule - almost all the African continents governments are illegitimate and ripe for replacement.

As the populations and suffering increase, the socialist rhetoric which thinly veils totalitarian regimes, will no longer be tolerated.

As the US expands its focus on global terrorism - make no mistake about it - Africa has come under the looking glass and will be drastically reshaped in the years and decades ahead.

This is a legitimate government's purpose for being - the safety and prosperity of their charges. It is a responsibility which is being discharged without remorse and without recrimination.
