Germ warfare, evil, etc.

Evil was addressed way back here.

Take your time assimilating it. It's a very broad concept and may take a few re-reads as a matter of fact I could probably write a dozen papers or even a book about it. However, relativity is not something folks jump out and buy in droves anyhow, so I'll hold off awhile.

As for germ warfare, the US has always held materials for research and trying to keep up somewhat with the phenomenally prolific biowarfare programs conducted by the USSR.

As other countries conduct research, our scientists also conduct research and attempt to form vaccines, etc to be used on soldiers in foreign countries and even for civilians under threat of bioterror attack.

The US has for decades been strongly opposed to biowarfare - but UN resolutions and international treaties are toilet paper to most of the third world and so they march ahead anyways. In 1989 when the USSR had a bio-accident, revealing how much they were working with anthrax and other agents, the US
covertly stepped up our own biowarfare research program.

Getting dictators out of leadership positions and setting up sane governments is the task of the 21st century. The 20th century ushered in the atomic age - but the 21st century will be the one in which most nations become nuclear powers. Naturally the job falls on the US to keep the world safe from the most psychotic despots.

Iraq will not be the first regime change - their will be others. For the survival of the human race - their MUST be these changes and the US must serve as an ideal example of successful, prosperous government for the rest of the world.

It's easy to fall into the nitpicking trap - but if someone is trying to save my life I don't condemn them because I get a little bruised in the process.
