Although UN inspections and specific airstrikes on Saddams' warfare capabilities is much needed,
"regime changes" as a word is an oxymoron.
Unless we are to OCCUPY Iraq, it will never be "democratized".
We can wound and hinder them, take out their infrastructure and leave instability in our wake.
And if Sadam thinks he's going down, he'll take his oil wells with him.....(remember those oil wells in Kuwait he set ablaze? if he couldn't have them, then we couldn't too) He'll give orders for that nuke he paid for to be set off at his origin of choice. He'll do this if he's cornered.
He has so mnay Islamic friends, and they're not Taliban or AlQueida either.
Oh now, we're going on this world wide hunt for "regimes"?
(Other sovereign nations we've helped in the past to prop up?)
Well, there will be little left of the U.S and her stability, if we send the brightest and the best of our young men to die for this new worldwide enforced demockracy.
>"Iraq will not be the first regime change - their will be others. For the survival of the human race - their MUST be these changes and the US must serve as an ideal example of successful, prosperous government for the rest of the world."
Bullshit. Keep OUR borders safe. Tighten security HERE at home.
Put our money HERE to keep us safe.
Help other countries to bring in their terrorists. Don't isolate yourself through lack of co-operation or through intimidation.
Demand ACCOUNTABILITY of our "intelligence" agencies.
The US will be the ideal of imperial aggression.
And what's this "successful, prosperous" stuff?
We'll be broke in another year or two.
The military, it's programs and it's implementations will break us.
>"It's easy to fall into the nitpicking trap - but if someone is trying to save my life I don't condemn them because I get a little bruised in the process."
I have been looking at WHY people are so willing to follow Bush's line of thinking.
He creates a good image of a strong military that protects and defends us from all the worlds' "despots" and "evil".
So people line up behind him because he gives them this feeling of "safety".
More bullshit!
Although it may sound good, it creates more problems than it solves.
All the planning for a war, can be brought to it's knees after a first strike gone wrong.
You guys can't see the forest for the trees.
And Bowser, you're REALLY getting under their skin.
You can tell when all they have to say to you........ is slurs and veiled threats.
You'll never change their minds, just irritate the hell out of them.
If you leave (and I suggest you do), they will have no-one to pick on.
Then they can all sit around and pat each other on the back in their own "safe" right wing little world.
And it will be BORING for them.
I say, let the conservatives have this board.
Didn't someone call it a circle jerk at one time anyway?
LOL
