Well, the quotes were out of context. I think anyone with half a brain could see the inference in the quote, "the Democratic-controlled Senate is not interested in the security of the American people."

Sure, it's hostile as hell -- but this does not make the statement untrue to the speaker. At the time these words were spoken, what do you suppose was foremost on the minds of the Democratic-controlled Senate?

Perhaps something along the line of:
* Republican vs. Democrat fund raisers
* where the president stands with the American people
* how to block any and all moves made by the usurper of the American throne

..and so forth. They have not been on figuring out any solutions for the nations current dilemmas, and they’re certainly not on pushing for speedy resolutions for any military budgets.
