Whoa!
This guy did not belong in ANY professional capacity interacting with people.
He made a mistake, with tragic consequences. There are consequences to those mistakes. And real people accept the consequences. It is usually easier to run.
He had further responsibilities. It is completely selfish to commit the ultimate pout, suicide, and leave behind a family which will always wonder what it should have done, how it failed, and why he really didn't love them.
Frankly, I don't have a lot of respect for him.
