Bin Laden has been taking pride in promoting terrorism and especially in attacking Americans for some time. And then using the attacks themselves as recruiting tools. The whole world has seen Bin Ladin's promotional videos, but these 6 had no idea what they were involved with? I don’t know if I buy it…

That sounds a lot like a guard at Auschwitz saying, "I could see the smoke but I had no idea what they were burning...I'd never been to that side of the camp..."

Its not like 9/11 was the first instance of bin Ladin's brand of terrorism. With that in mind does the "Well we thought it was all just talk..." defense really fly?

When they traveled to Afghanistan was it at a time when the State Department had Afghanistan tagged as a terrorist nation and one that Americans should not visit?

I don't know the answers to all these questions, but it would seem to me that these 6 should have been fully aware of what they were getting into. My bet is that they are a sleeper cell that just hasn't been activated yet: And as such, they ARE terrorists. But then that’s just a speculative guess. I can’t believe that the courts are allowing them to be held with zero evidence.

For example, I wonder if any of them have taken flying lessons or withdrawn money from some of the same sources as Zacharias Moussaui.
