Thank you Splinx, for your perspective or analogy.
Truly the situation sits on a precipice.

Somewhere, some how, one madman will make the wrong decision and send a spiral out of control. Bad calls or overkill. One WRONG decision and a firestorm could result.
We need calm and rational decisions and international support.
Period.
