Geez, your post doesn't even make logical sense, although you get credit for plugging the word "choice" in only three times, which is an improvement over the DNC. The bubbleheads at the New York Times might buy this kind of pantload, but it ain't selling here, and I'll bet it ain't selling in New Jersey either.
The Democrats shot their own horse between the eyes, and had the brass balls to whine that now they don't have anything for their constituents to ride. If anyone deprived the voters of a "choice" it was them. Remember, these same voters "chose" Torricelli in the primary.
Torricelli did not die. He was not terminally ill. He was not in legal danger of being prosecuted for his crimes. He was not required to quit for family reasons.
He quit (or was forced out by the Democrats) for only one single reason: He was about to lose the election. The voters of New Jersey were "choosing" someone else besides him.
He said so himself: "I will not be responsible for the loss of the Democratic majority in the United States Senate. I will not allow it to happen. There is just too much at issue."
Democrats and the Left so firmly believe that they are on the side of the angels that they can justify almost any action to keep themselves in power. God knows we've seen enough of this attitude throughout history.
The idea that you can switch candidates when you get behind in the polls--for no other reason except that you are behind in the polls--right up to an election, is (not to put too fine a point on it) cheating. If the Republicans have any brains, they will forget any court appeals and legal bullhockey and just let the light shine brightly on this action until the election.
