Literally.

Violence begets violence.

If that region were rated on a scale from 1-10 on the intelligence level it would rate a -2.

Unfortunately, no one's going around tapping folks down there with the "smart" stick - and so this will keep repeating ad infinitum.

You can sing the victim song all you want - but that's just part of the problem. Instead of saying "How can we find a way to settle down peacefully and stop firing at our neighbors?" you say "oh look at those evil Israelis! We fire a peashooter and they come rolling in with tanks and missiles!"

That sort of rhetoric around people with limited capacity for rational, intelligent thought - will just spur more violence.

You are an agitator. You point the finger at others - when you are really part of the problem - and then try to cloak yourself as peace-loving and non-violent. There's tons of those in Europe who pass themselves off to the yokels as "intelligentsia" when they are nothing of the kind.

Arafat and his cronies are parasites on the ignorant Palestinians the same way Sharon is a parasite on the ignorant Israelis. Sharon will use every small or large act of violence to pound the Palestinians into the ground, and Arafat will use such poundings to illustrate and justify the resistance and his own position.

Hate.

You foster it. Encourage it, and then patronizingly claim innocence when more bloodshed occurs.

Hate is the problem. How about encouraging cooperation, friendship and mutual interests?

When will we see a Palestinian or Israeli youth embark upon a mission to bring the youth of both sides together in peace?

When will we see Arafat actually accept any of the offers made from the Israelis over the years or seriously accept some distasteful compromises for the good and wellbeing of his people?

Not too soon I betcha....

Meanwhile it's the "Day of the Dove" all over again - every day for eternity.
