One has to feel sorry for him. Senility is clearly upon him in sporadic bursts and he often has difficulty with holding even a simple thought. The funniest bits are when he habitually spells out words he uses in his sentences. Sentences, S-E-N-T-E-N-C-E-S - sentences!

I guess the people of West Virginia don't mind having someone this "out of it" represent them. Like Carter one can see he really believes in what he is saying, even if he can't keep coherent for too long or hold many facts without being prompted by his interns. I wonder how many of his constituents have seen him in action recently.

His delay tactics ironically, harm his own party more than the republicans and one could see Hillary's frustration with the "old coot" because she knows the resolution is a done deal and the delays just keep it in the public eye that much closer to election day - helping the republicans to more seats in the House and Senate. One can see also how hopeless are there chances of explaining this to him and him comprehending why it harms them.

Go Byrd Go!

Watch out for that "blank check!"
