When you realize that time started when the Big Bang did, "always" becomes an interesting concept.
I have no problem believing in physical principles being inherent in existence itself. The human mind has problems with the idea of order without intelligence, which considering how our minds are constructed, is only natural.
I suppose it's possible that some variation in the Bang would have resulted in completely different rules, but that gets above my pay grade in physics.
