Proposition 23 in this election would give Oregon a universal health care program. Financed by a squadron of new taxes, this left-wing wet dream is a shot across the bow for the rest of the country. If they pass it, Oregon deserves it, and it will be most instructive for the rest of the nation as we watch a state collapse under socialized medicine.

These people are nuts. The cost of the plan is estimated at about $19 billion. The current total Oregon state budget is $16 billion. And these numbers are from supporters of the plan.
