It is the state of Minnesota that offers same day registration not the DSA.

The only purpose that I know of for voter registration is for the sole purpose of contributing to an election.

It is unclear to me (maybe I read it wrong) that they are encouraging people who are non-residents (by Minnesota's definition of resident) to register. I'd have to know more about the law in question to make that determination with certainty.

I would doubt that they are stupid enough to anounce an illegal act on the internet. Well, it's the DSA, so maybe they are?
