Oh, please

<Information, and using it well, would have prevented 911.

Information was had, and ignored.

. . . [T]he choices are made by people who are not reponsible for determining the value of that information.

The choices are made by the people to whom that information was entrusted by the citizens. If investigators want access to that information, let them make their case and get a warrant.

Warrantless searches are the province of dictators and thugs. And perhaps of people who don't know any better in their zeal than to kiss off pieces of the Bill of Rights.

Let law enforcement agencies enforce the law as it is without making new to suit their secret purposes, investigating who knows who who knows why, and gathering who knows what who knows where, for use in who knows what cause.

Let investigators gather criminal evidence that will not collapse like a house of cards as its illegitimate source is uncovered.

Let us all respect the privacy statutes of the states.

Let us all understand that abuse of one fundamental right makes abuse of others easier to justify.

Let us all remember not only the First, but also the Fourth.

Mary Anne
