Nothing so grand
Basically it was just an elaborate "I told you so!". Events in the real world move slower than discussions on the boards, and many times an issue is resolved long after the discussion about it ends. I was "closing the loop".
Upon rereading, it does appear like I was calling out Ed. Not really--I mentioned him by name only because he was, then as now, one of the more vivid (virulent) Rightists, and had much to say about California's energy crisis. The Rightist core at AfterHours Current Events was much the same as it is here, and any of the same cast of characters is welcome to reply.
