I got tired of the way cable news covers stories like this way back in the O.J. era. Typically, I switch on the cable news once or twice a day. If there's a newsperson in the newsroom talking, and not a shot of some onsite scene, then I assume nothing earthshaking is happening. I ignore whatever gasbrain is expounding on the screen, and see what's on the crawl at the bottom of the screen. Again, if anything is really hot, it will be there right off the bat. If not, I turn it off. I catch the hourly news on the radio, and check in on various websites now and then. Newspapers are almost useless.
