ample testimony?

<"In my town of 40,000 souls, over 1,000 turned out for a peaceful rally and march through town, San Francisco had over 40,000, and as many as 200,000 marched in Washington D.C. giving ample testimony to the fact most Americans appear to be strongly opposed to any war on Iraq."

Do you really think this is ample testimony? A thousand in your town, forty thousand in SF and 200,000 in DC is meaningless beyond showing that there is a galvanized minority opposition.

"Indeed, I heard this same sentiment echoed more than once by those taking part in Saturday's demonstrations, and I sense a sea change in the public's perception of those we elect to represent us. They're not doing their job, and the people are restless."

So, I guess rather than send the cowards back, they will vote green, GOOD!

There is natural ambivalence to war. I feel the same way. If and when it comes, the hearts and minds of the people will be overwhelmingly supportive.
