"How many of you will be disappointed if Iraq demonstrates no WMD, or gets rid
of them and is disarmed, and there is no war?"
I won't be disappointed.
But once again, you miss the whole point. Iraq isn't suppose to have any WMD. We shouldn't be in the position of forcing Iraq to demonstrate they have no WMD. And we wouldn't have the present UN resolution unless we make it clear that we were going to provide the muscle- with or without the UN- to bring about regime change- if Iraq continue defying the agreements they made at the end of Desert Storm.
So even if Saddem is currently making more WMDs which is obviously in volation of his agreements he signed, but should suddenly through the grace of God, he decides to stop and eliminate the WMD. That would be fine.
Iraq is a miserable dictatorship, it would be better if conditions could improve in that country, but that alone, as far as our national security, is not a big priority. It's only a priority because it's hostile, irresponsible, & willingness to use WMD makes it a priority.
