My prediction is the Iraqi rubber stamp parliament will moan, groan and make lots of meaningless resolutions. Then Saddam as the "voice of reason" will step in and announce that the Iraqi people shall take the moral high ground and accept the UN resolution fully even though it was a dreadful insult. In the mean time the Iraqis will be burying in the sand all of their hardware that violated the resolution (if they haven't done that already). They'll then cross their fingers and hope that Hans Blix makes a mess of it. Where the Iraqi will go wrong is if we (the US) have a guy on the inside telling us where most of the hardware has been buried. That information will then be transferred to Hans Blix. The moment of truth will come when Blix's inspection team shows up at one of the burial sites with a backhoe. I'd give that inspection team and any attached journalists about a 50-50 chance of being machine gunned on the spot. Saddam will be able to do that only once or twice and then the war will begin. Where we'll screw up is if Blix is not up to the job or our inside man has been compromised.
