Making a buck from the nation's fears
Heard this story on NPR Friday morning...
The 'terrorism insurance' currently available apparently only covers physical damage, say from an explosion and/or fire. The policies do not pay off for chemical or biological attack, and the subsequent loss of business.
Just who decided that new construction must have terrorism insurance before it can proceed wasn't explained... but I can guess. Come to think of it, I may have heard the story on "Marketplace", which is underwritten by GE, who bring all kinds of 'good things to light', including re-insurance.
[Aside to Raoul: you're in the business - got anything to add here, I hope?]
