Kidding...

Ed and Gronk are actually both nice -- in that Neanderthal sort of way that so angers certain folks.

Ed hits the brad nail just fine, but he tends to use a sledge hammer, often with much more force that necessary, effectively targeting far more than intended. Infantry life, I guess, has inured me to his rants, but his points do remain as valid as any of ours, and these boards were created for lively discourse. The MSNBC boards came across as too strict for truly open conversations.

Anyway, I think Ed is best read strictly from an issue-POV, bearing in mind that, even though he might direct slander toward a particular poster, he might actually just be showing personal amazement that such a post was ever made for serious contemplation (I feel that way regarding a lot of the crap that shows up here -- but that's me). If the targeted individual could just step back and be unbiased enough to light on the points of the post, a better interchange of information might be achieved -- if it is truly desired.

Conversations are best in full-duplex, but the best we can attain on the net is half-duplex. Ed would likely prefer a simplex system. But, here we are.

Earlier on, Ed stated he would make an effort to mellow his responses. For this, I am grateful -- especially since I now don’t need to clean my monitor so often -- whatever that means...

I wonder if anyone has even noticed the change. I can see that the attempt is being made (he even offers Lindy hugs and kisses now), though there are still areas in need of subtle improvement (like maybe not offering Lindy hugs and kisses).
