In the US we’re used to this sort of thing – how long has it been since you heard of Padilla? Apparently in Pakistan it’s bad, to hold someone incommunicado, without charges, without legal representation, without telling relatives.
Sounds bungled. Wonder why anyone would want to create more enemies among the folks you are depending upon to help you?
Ought to be a way to do these things with some awareness of the public relations value.
