Louisiana election--A win for the Democrats!
Unless something really drastic happens, it's looking like the Democrats pulled this one out of the fire. Landreau, who has practically ruptured herself pretending to be a pro-Bush conservative, can relax now.
As is often the case, local issues may have won the day, with a controversial sugar import issue gaining her support with the Louisiana sugar industry in the latter days of the campaign.
