In my not-so-humble-but-well-thought-out opinion, Lott’s tenure as Majority Leader designate is over. (Well, maybe just my opinion.)
Calls Comments 'Offensive' and 'Wrong'.
Now, what happens if he becomes Majority Leader? Do you think that the Rs want that for the next two years, and into the elections of 2004?
I’d love to see him stay, myself, but that’s a bit perverted on my part. I’d LIKE to see two years of him defending Bob Jones University’s racial policies, Strom Thurmond’s ideas on segregation, or even damning them, a little bit, sorta.
Two glorious years of Brit Hume and Tony Snow on Fox clucking about how misunderstood Lott is, and even Thurmond, for that matter. How the American public just doesn't understand that segregation was both terrible and not that bad, and when a leader talks about the "not-that-bad" parts he is NOT endorsing the terrible parts.
I’m checking “He should stay” on every poll I see, but that’s just me being honest.

Bush Denounces Lott's Remarks. (Is Lott as ML history?)
