I'd like to see ANY white politician over 60 years old from a southern state who would come up spotless from this kind of scrutiny. Meanwhile, former Grand Kleagle Byrd just sits and smiles. Al Gore, accused by Cynthia McKinney of having a "low Negro tolerance level," sits and smiles. Nobody has ever mentioned being bothered by the late Mel Carnahan's little hobby of being in minstrel shows.

Being a Democrat means never having to say you're sorry. And knowing the press won't demand it.
