and they certainly deserve to be honored in their defense and service of a free press, and the values of free societies.

However...I do hate to be cynical, but for each Ernie Pyle courageously serving and dying for freedom, there's at least a dozen witless tabloid bozos recklessly endangering themselves just to stroke their egos, and to land the big story to win fame and fortune.
