<In the past decades, we have tried out several Israeli leaders, and gotten no results
We've tried out..??? Gee, and all this time I thought Israel was a parliamentary democracy whose leadership was, ultimately, chosen by its voting citizens. Considering how often 'strange bedfellow' coalitiions have been required for a government to form at all, I'm left wondering how we have managed the try-outs?
Maybe it's that ultra-Orthodox, ultra-Right party (whose policies would also deny my Jewish identity as genuine, despite the appropriate documents), which always seems to get a ministry in exchange for a handful of votes, who's been in the pocket of the State Department all these years?
(Yeah, Tom, I know - slip of the keyboard. Not a problem; just couldn't resist. You know what the Kzinti say: "You scream, and you leap.")
