Waiting for Bush to wuss out on economic program

I'm hearing some stuff about Bush's economic proposals, which should come out later this month. Sounds like he's running a bit scared from the leftist "tax cuts for the rich" rhetoric and may back off from his original ideas. I hope not.

When will a Republican stand up and say, "Yeah. I'm cutting taxes for the rich, and letting them keep more of their own money. What's your point?"

"The rich PAY all the taxes. If you don't cut THEIR taxes, it ain't a real tax cut at all, and will have no real economic effect. And sorry to burst your blue-collar bubble, but it's the rich that power the economy. People who have a surplus, who have more money than they need to live, spend it and invest it in things that cause economic growth.

It's the rich who build factories, hire the new workers, invest in research, help people finance new businesses, build apartments and housing developments, fund all those marvelous government programs you love so much, and not incidentally, support all you fatasses who don't get out of the house except to collect a government check or when a Democratic vote canvasser hauls you out by your ear.

When has a poor person ever given you a job?"

Ah, well.

George, no matter HOW you modify your tax cuts, the Democrats are still going to rip you three new ones. Why not just do the right thing?
