Unfortunately I couldn't arrange hooking up electrodes in Congress to give anyone who says "TAX CUTS FOR THE RICH" a 5,000 volt charge in the goombahs. It would have been glorious.
And I won't even bother to bring up someone's moral right to keep their own money. The Left has integrated the Robin Hood Principle into themselves at a genetic level, and I don't think that's going to change.
The Democrats operate on the "give the man a fish" theory, which works quite well on the perceptual mentalities that comprise a large chunk of their core constituencies. It's difficult to explain to them why putting more money in the hands of the people who write their paychecks could possibly be useful to them.
The main reason Democrats like low-end tax cuts is that is cost the government very little to cut taxes on people who don't pay any, and the whole object of the game is to keep the money and power in Washington while convincing the population that you've done something great for them.
Interesting...if tax cuts are going to put the economy in the toilet in the election year of 2004 like everyone is saying, why are the Democrats so scared of them?
