The United States has always taken great pride in being an open society.
This is a large part of our strength. Everyone on all sides complained about the excesses of the press, and has expressed fear about all the (national) secrets and scandals that have been published.
Up to the present Bush administration.
This is the most closed government has ever been. As Americans we have to accept on faith Bush has information that justifies why we should start a war against a smaller, weaker nation that has not attacked us other than verbally.
We know we are a good people, and not the arrogant bully so much of the world accuses us of being.
So on the evidence of things not seen, and the substance of facts not known we exercise our faith by placing it on Napoleon Bushaparte II. He tells us
"The Iraqi regime is a threat to any American and to threats who are friends of America."
