We need an Alternative AMT...

Too many people pay no taxes at all.

Therefore, I propose that anyone and everyone over the age of 18 who's Federal Income tax bill amounts to less than $1000.00 should be forced to pay an alternative AMT of $1,000.00 (Reduced by a tax credit for every dollar of Federal Income Tax paid).

In that way, all able bodied workers over the age of 18 will be encouraged to earn at least a taxable income that would result in a $1,000 or greater tax liability. If they didn't earn that much, they should still have to pay their fair share which will be a meager $1,000.

Since about 40,000,000 eligible lazy/underworked/undertaxed americans end up paying NO Federal Income tax at all under the current system, this proposal would generate an additional $40,000,000,000 in tax revenue that could be used to pay for healthcare for children.

It is time that each and every american citizen pays his/her fair share. It is completely unfair that 40 million citizens pay no tax at all. It is time for a real change to the tax system.

Call it a citizen tax.

Make it law now!
